The Rock Mechanics Laboratory is a laboratory (facility) to support the implementation of lectures and practicum in the field of Rock Mechanics (Geomechanics) for students of the Mining Engineering Study Program at Trisakti University. At the Rock Mechanics Laboratory, students will learn how to perform rock mechanics tests, starting from the preparation of rock samples to be tested to operating tools according to test procedures. In addition, this laboratory also supports lecturers to be able to conduct research related to rock mechanics
In addition to supporting academic activities, the Rock Mechanics Laboratory of the Mining Engineering Study Program at Trisakti University also provides rock testing services by referring to American Standard Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards, such as:
- Compressive Strength Test (UCS)
- Triaxial Test
- Shear Strength Test
- Indirect Dance Strength Test
- Physical Properties Test
- Dynamic Properties Test
These tests are usually intended as one of the variables to design a mine, both open pit and underground. It is hoped that the Mining Engineering Study Program at Trisakti University can help and be involved in advancing Indonesian mining.
Currently, the Rock Mechanics Laboratory of the Mining Engineering Study Program at Trisakti University also houses the Mine Ventilation Laboratory and the Mapping Survey Laboratory. The two laboratories are also equipped with measurement equipment to illustration media to help support teaching and learning processes and research. Activities carried out include:
- Air Quality Testing
- Air Quantity Testing
- Terrestrial Mapping
