One of the lecturers of the Mining Engineering Study Program, FTKE – Trisakti University, Dr.Ir.Masagus A.Azizi., ST., MT., IPM was a speaker at the TPT XXX Professional Workshop series of events “The Role of Mineral and Coal Mining in Supporting Strategic Industries and National defence.” This seminar was organized by the Association of Indonesian Mining Experts, through the Zoom platform on Friday (22 October 2021).

Dr. Ir. Masagus A.Azizi, ST., MT., IPM delivered his presentation entitled “Risk Analysis for Geotechnical in Open Pit Mine“. In this webinar, moderated by Dr.Ir. Eman Widijanto., MASc., IPU who currently works as Vice President of Occupational Health and Safety at PT Freeport Indonesia. This online event was attended by 111 participants including mining practitioners and academics in Indonesia.

In his presentation, Dr. Ir. Masagus A.Azizi, ST., MT., IPM explained about risk management in mining, both open pit and underground mines. Open pit mines have theoretical challenges related to design, including:

1. Stripping Ratio Management
2. Optimal Mining Road Allocation Placement to support the production process
3. Determining the right fleet for a certain type of mine
4. Slope angle management from open pit mine
